Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers

Dr Heather has done advanced filler training and uses only premium dermal fillers to ensure safety, longevity and natural looking results. She will listen to your individual concerns and carry out a full facial assessment prior to any fillers, aiming to give you a beautiful and natural result which respects your natural unique anatomy.

Dermal fillers are a gel type substance which are generally made from hyaluronic acid; a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. They are a safe and effective treatment and can be used in multiple areas of the face.

They are probably most well known for being used in the lips. They can be used to hydrate and plump the lip tissues. This may be to replace the youthful fullness we naturally lose with age, or simply to change the size, shape and symmetry of our lips depending on our own personal preferences. They can also be used in the tissues surrounding the lips to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are also commonly used to:

  • Improve the appearance of lines on the face, for example nose to mouth lines (nasolabial folds) and mouth to chin lines (marionette lines).
  • Replace volume loss in the face which naturally occurs due to fat and bone loss with aging.
  • Emulate bone and improve face shape and definition.

£275- £310 per ml. Please see price list for individual prices.

Please note that more than 1ml would never be placed in the lips in one sitting. Achieving beautiful lips often takes a few appointments spaced weeks apart to give the filler time to integrate with your lip tissues and for the tissues to adapt.

This also depends on the area being treated. Everyone is different but give up to 1-2 weeks for swelling and bruising to settle. However, most people can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.

This varies from patient to patient depending on multiple factors such as age and genetics, but on average 9-12months.

There is some mild discomfort. A numbing cream will always be used prior to lip filler, and many fillers contain a local anaesthetic also.

Commonly patients will experience swelling and bruising. Serious complications are rare.

Yes. Hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve hyaluronic acid-based fillers if required.

Starting arnica supplements five days before your appointment can help reduce the chances of bruising.
