Polynucleotides

What is Polynucleotides ?

Polynucleotides are an injectable treatment that can be used on multiple areas of the face and body. Generally they are used on the under eyes, lower face, neck, chest and hands. They originate from fish DNA and are the latest advancement in the field of aesthetic medicine. They are biostimulators which means they stimulate the skin to produce collagen and elastin leading to regenerated skin cells. This results in rejuvenated, younger, healthier looking skin.

They help with fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, rosacea, scarring and pigmentation and are a very safe and effective treatment. Lots of people also use them as a preventative treatment to maintain a youthful, fresh appearance.

A course of 3 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart is recommended.

There is some mild discomfort, with some patients describing the injections as ‘stingy’. A local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment.

This will depend on the area and product used, but generally 24 to 48 hours for swelling and redness to resolve. Should bruising occur this can take up to 1-2 weeks to resolve.

Common minor side effects include redness, swelling and bruising and usually resolve within a few days.

This varies between patients, but improvements are generally seen after the second treatment and continue to build over the next few months.
